ADX is the Average Directional Movement Index which
was created by J. Welles Wilder. ADX is usually
plotted in a chart window along with two DMI
(Directional Movement Indicator) lines. ADX is
mainly used to quantify trend strength. However, the
unique combination of indicator lines also gives a
visual representation of trend direction, momentum,
and volatility.
Dr. Charles B. Schaap is the author of
ADXcellence—Power Trend Strategies. He is a Director
of the Hedge Fund Association and a hedge fund
strategist. Dr. Schaap educates active traders,
investors, and professional money managers. He
believes the ADXcellence system “can elevate your
trading to a higher level and help you reach your
financial goals.”
